Started out with Wendy running back to the store to buy the beautiful 7 pillows I had bought the previous week – and returned. The expense had scared me but she was so right about getting past it. They rock!
Sandra showed up around noon and by 1, a group of us was swallowed up into Nia Land (including Rebecca who came up from Seattle to share the joy with us for the day!). The new routine, AYA, is magical. Lots of Latin beats, some simple and rich, rich moves – it is a joy, and having Sandra guide us into it was a huge treat. The “free dance” part, kinda blew me away… at one point I wasn’t sure I could hold that much joy in me.
Jill Pagano, a “Second Generation Trainer” (and black belt) instructor had come up from Seattle and led us into one song. Whew. The way the woman moves… I really got to see the “martial arts” part of Nia, all wrapped up in sensuousness. Another treat.
Before she left (wearing a Happiness T-shirt AND Happiness Panties), Jill offered to have a White Belt Intensive at the Center, in January. All we need is four people and we’re in!! More on this later, but keep it in your mind and if you know that you would like to do it, email us.
The day continued with beautiful Melanie sharing her Zumba-ness with us. She really broke down the moves and that gave me a feeling of being ready for more. Such fun… Laurie and I were sweating up a storm!
A quick run home for a shower and back at the Center where a spectacular array of foods kept piling up. Let me tell you… we can put on a potluck! (gluten free blueberry cobbler, homemade sushi, cabbage rolls, crazy hot carrot salad with raita, St André cheese … and so.much.more) Wow! I was amazed at how many people showed up and seemed simply happy to be there. We had all ages represented and new, sweet connections were made. I was so happy to meet Kathy, Jim and Tasha and look forward to more fun with them. Jennifer, too. And Rachel. And … so many beautiful people.
Kim, Virg and Mike were there, too – and it was deeply satisfying to share the space with them, after having spent so many hours together, a mere three months ago (????!!!), remodeling it.
Tor had brought a video of him doing Aikido, Mimi brought her hula hoops (and tons of decorating stuff), Kyle Miller delighted us with his music, Bruce awed us with his magic tricks (watch for his upcoming magic show AND classes at the Center), people painted ceramic tiles and overall, it was a sweet blast of just what we had envisioned: being together – simply.
And then, around 9, Melanie jumped on stage and led us through one dance. I think almost everyone joined in!!
So … yeah. Pretty darn happy.
Wishing you all a great week. Thank you so much for being part of our growing community. We all have so much to share and receive from each other…
